چکیده

Sodium hyaluronate (SH) is recognized as the strongest natural humectant, since it contains a large number of hydroxyl and carboxyl groups in its structure, can absorb 1000 times own weight water. The porcine acellular dermal matrix (pADM) has been widely used biological materials for activities, such promoting cell proliferation wound healing. Enhancing hydrophilic moisturizing properties pADM expected to further improve ability promote However, there are no strong chemical bonds between SH pADM. Therefore, was oxidized by sodium periodate this study, cross-link with microstructure, hydrophilicity, moisture retention, degradation cytotoxicity cross-linked different oxidation degrees (OSH) were studied. results show that OSH-pADM maintained secondary structure collagen, well good microporous native after cross-linking. With increasing degree, surface hydrophilicity retention capacities increased; among them, 40% degree OSH found have capacity. hygroscopic kinetics at 93% RH conformed second-order equation, indicating process controlled factors. resistance also increased acceptable. vivo full-thickness healing experiments showed had an obvious It be speculated OSH-pADM, properties, physicochemical biocompatibility, great potential facilitating repair.

Xenogenic (porcine) acellular dermal matrix is useful for the wound healing of severely damaged extremities

This study was conducted to investigate the possibility of improving the success rate of patient treatment and promoting wound healing by utilizing xenogenic (porcine) acellular dermal matrix (XADM) to cover large areas of severely damaged wounds. Patients with severely damaged large-area wounds (56 cases) were enrolled in the study from May 2002 to May 2012. All patients admitted to hospital r...

Human Keratinocyte Growth and Differentiation on Acellular Porcine Dermal Matrix in relation to Wound Healing Potential

A number of implantable biomaterials derived from animal tissues are now used in modern surgery. Xe-Derma is a dry, sterile, acellular porcine dermis. It has a remarkable healing effect on burns and other wounds. Our hypothesis was that the natural biological structure of Xe-Derma plays an important role in keratinocyte proliferation and formation of epidermal architecture in vitro as well as i...

Thoracic Wall Reconstruction with Acellular Porcine Dermal Collagen Matrix.

BACKGROUND  Major thoracic wall resections require the implantation of foreign materials for reconstruction and stabilization. Recently, biological collagen matrixes have emerged as an alternative to the routinely used synthetic materials. MATERIALS AND METHODS  Retrospectively, we analyzed our initial experience of chest wall reconstruction on large defects using a cross-linked porcine derma...

Influence of hyaluronic acid on wound healing using composite porcine acellular dermal matrix grafts and autologous skin in rabbits.

This study aims to explore the influence of hyaluronic acid (HA) on wound healing during xenogeneic porcine acellular dermal matrix (PADM) composite skin grafting. The results will facilitate the development of methods for improving graft contracture and poor elasticity of composite transplantation. Exogenous HA was added to composite PADM grafts and to thin autologous skin grafts during rabbit...

Bovine versus Porcine Acellular Dermal Matrix: A Comparison of Mechanical Properties

BACKGROUND Porcine and bovine acellular dermal matrices (PADM and BADM, respectively) are the most commonly used biologic meshes for ventral hernia repair. A previous study suggests a higher rate of intraoperative device failures using PADM than BADM. We hypothesize that this difference is, in part, related to intrinsic mechanical properties of the matrix substrate and source material. The foll...
